Interview with Jákup á Borg: the living legend of Faroese football

Jákup á Borg was born in Tórshavn, on 26 October 1979. He made his international debut for the Faroe Islands national team in 1998 against Bosnia, and he collected 62 caps, scoring 2 goals. He played for three teams in his career: B36 Tórshavn, HB Tórshavn and OB Odense. He is a living legend of the Faroese football, and our blog contacted him for a short interview. Here it is:

Jákup Ludvig Thomsen è uno dei giocatori più promettenti della nazionale U21 delle Isole Faer Oer. E' nato nel 1997 e gioca come centravanti. Ha mosso i primi passi della sua carriera nell'HB di Tórshavn, squadra della capitale nonché la più titolata dell'arcipelago.

A soli 15 anni ha fatto le valigie per la Danimarca. Attualmente gioca per l'FC Midtjylland. Lo scorso anno, con la squadra U19 dei nerorossi, ha raggiunto i quarti di finale della Youth League, uscendo contro il titolatissimo Barcellona solo ai supplementari. Jákup Ludvig Thomsen is one of the most promising players of Faroe Islands U-21. He was born in 1997 and he plays as striker. He has taken the first steps of his career in HB Tórshavn, the most winning team of Faroe.

He moved to Denmark when he was 15 years old. He currently plays for FC Midtjylland. Last year, with FC Midtjylland U19, he reached the quarter final against Barcelona losing at extra-time in the Youth League where he've played all the five matches scoring a great goal against Atletico Madrid.
